About Madalen Dixon

Madalen Dixon is an Exeter, UK based mixed media artist who celebrates the beauty of nature and female form in every piece.

Her work aims to present a visual unification of nature and humanity, a reminder that humankind are a part of nature and nature is a part of humankind. To this end her work often invokes folklore, which exists in the space between science’s explanation and humankind’s perception of natural phenomenon. The perfect synonym for human and nature co-dependence.

Madalen’s process is creative and experimental, combining media that fuses her background in fashion, graphic and 3D design to create unique paintings, sculptures and props.

Having recently taken the leap from part time to full-time artist, Madalen has been working closely with Powderham Castle, Devon to set-up her studio in the grounds and to provide support and opportunities for other artists.
